Schools can use a prebuilt template in School Cash Online to create a Food Drive and configure contribution options. Follow this guide to access the template, customize the settings, and verify district-specific policies before publishing.

To create a Food Drive item, access the template using the following steps:

  1. Go to the Browse Templates section in School Cash Online.
  2. Select the Event Holiday Food Drive template from the available list.

  3. Review the default instructions included in the template.
  4. Remove all instructional text before publishing the item.

Customizing the Food Drive

After accessing the template, customize it to reflect school-specific details:

  1. Update the text to ensure it is school-specific and item-specific.

  2. Replace the default image by clicking the trash icon and uploading a new image.

Setting Up the Food Drive

To configure the Food Drive item, adjust the following settings:

  1. Select a start date, such as October 1st, and an end date before the holiday break.

  2. Enable an email reminder for registered School Cash Online users.

  3. Choose whether the food drive should be available to the public or restricted to a specific school.

  1. Under Options and Choices, modify the contribution name if needed.

Previewing and Finalizing the Food Drive

Before publishing, preview the Food Drive item to ensure all details are correct:

  1. Click Preview to view the Food Drive item.

  2. Check for any remaining uppercase words or bracketed placeholder text and replace them with accurate information.

  3. Ensure all contribution calculations are working correctly.
  4. Save and Attach the Food Drive item as an optional item attached to all students.
