Overview

If an item is attached by course with an Optional selection and has no effective cut-off date, the attachment does not remain a commitment after the item reaches its End Date (expiry date). 


Steps

  1. Identify the item that is attached by Course and confirm the attachment is set to Optional.
  2. Confirm there is no effective cut-off date configured for the attachment rule.
  3. Review the item’s End Date.
  4. After the End Date is reached, confirm the course is no longer treated as a commitment to the student for that item.


Outcome

After the End Date is reached, the course no longer remains a commitment to the student for that optional course attachment when no effective cut-off date is used.


Troubleshoot

  • The item is still showing as a commitment after the expiry date > Confirm you are reviewing the correct item and that the End Date has passed.
  • Behavior does not match expectations > Confirm whether the item is attached as Required or Optional, and whether an Effective Cut-off Date is in use for the attachment method.
