SchoolCash Online is our district's preferred method of payment. Promoting it effectively can help streamline processes and enhance communication within your school community. Below are tips on how to promote SchoolCash Online to ensure maximum engagement.

Spread the Word

  • Have a consistent message: "SchoolCash Online is our district's preferred method of payment."

  • Inform your staff: Let teachers and coaches know what SchoolCash Online is and how it benefits them:
    • Less cash and check collection & counting

    • Less photocopying

    • More instructional time

    • Better communication

  • Inform your school community: As you launch, let your community know that you are now using SchoolCash Online. It's easy, free, reduces risk, and gives the staff more time for the students:
    • Send an email message from the Principal. Parents always open those!

    • Use social media, local newspapers, local radio, and district and school websites.

    • Remind parents that notifications about upcoming field trips and activities at the school are handled automatically through SchoolCash Online.

  • Inform Parent Council: Let Parent Council know what SchoolCash Online is about. KEV has a presentation you can share with Parent Council.

  • Repeat your message: KEEP telling parents about SchoolCash Online every chance you get. Let them know this is the school's preferred method of payment. Use flyers, signs, emails, posters, tweets, posts, newsletters, and automated calls.

  • Hold competitions: Hold in-school competitions to promote registration.

Have Items for Sale

  • Put the items you currently collect cash for online. If it is a complicated item, KEV can help you create it.

  • Create items throughout the year: Ensure you have items online for parents to purchase throughout the school year.

  • Be Seasonal: Consider seasonal items as school fundraisers, such as gift baskets or cookie dough sales in November/December, candy grams or flowers in February, or frozen yogurt in the warmer months.

  • Have public items: Make some items available to the public, like tickets to school concerts for grandparents or spirit wear for alumni.

Help Parents Pay Online

  • Send the Step by Step Registration Flyer to parents: Include this on the back of any field trip or activity information going home.

  • Include the Step by Step Registration information in your Spring Kindergarten Packages.

  • Add a link to your SchoolCash Online site and place the FAQ information on District and School websites.

  • Have a laptop or tablet in the office and at events (open house, parent-teacher nights) for easy access to sign up.

  • Provide Help Line information: Have the contact information for the Parent Help Line handy in case parents need extra help registering.

  • Consider multiple language options: Google Translate is built into the SchoolCash Online site. Many parent volunteers can assist new families in their first language.

Give Incentives to Pay Online

  • Offer online incentives: For example, buy a slice of pizza and get a juice box free.

  • Make some items available online only, or offer them online early: Students can pay activity fees online and pick up their timetables early, avoiding long lines.

  • Discount online purchases: For example, offer dance tickets $1 less if purchased online.

  • Promote the item online: Promote the item online for purchase instead of just sending the standard notice home.

  • Encourage teachers: Encourage your teachers to use SchoolCash Online for Spirit Wear and school lunches when available.

  • Use onsite devices: Bring tablets to school sporting events so everyone can purchase Spirit Wear on the spot. They will be ready for the next big game!
