The start of a new school year brings with it a renewed energy. As the students and staff settle into a routine, schools look to the collection various start of school fees and paperwork.

School office staff are running at capacity. To help lessen the counting cash workload, this month’s Fee of the Month, we explore how to collect student activity fee payments using SchoolCash Online. 

Did you create a Student Activity fee last year? If you did, then simply copy, revise, and attach to all students. If you didn’t, we suggest you review the Fees – Student Activity template.

Create the item this year, next year simply copy into next year’s catalog and give it a quick review for revisions.

TIP: To Add a Due Date or Not To Add?

Do you have new students enroll throughout the school year? If you do, then add a Due Date. This would be the date you would like parents to purchase by.

PROCESS:

Select the ‘Fee-Student Activity’ template from the ‘Browse Templates’ list.

Review, then remove the detailed template instructions. 

 

 

IMPORTANT: As this is the start of a new school year, verify the SchoolCash Catalog school year has indeed rolled to the new school year. 

If there are orange banners displaying, the SchoolCash Catalog has not rolled for reasons explained in the banner. The school year field will most likely be defaulting to last year. 

You will be required to select the new school year.


 

Add the ‘Account/Category Name’ in the Financials section, as well as select both start and end dates. 

May we suggest you make this item available for the entire year. As new students enroll throughout the school year, parents who register for SchoolCash Online and attach their children to their account, will have this item available for purchase. No manual attachment required.
